    Default 4wheel light on dash

Another quick question. What is this light there for? My scout has it and it is always light. Is this supposed to be an indicator that the transfer is in 4 wheel high or low? And if so what controls it? Thanks for any info.

It tells you that you have 4wheel drive engaged. If it is always on, it sounds like the switch has gotten stuck. The switch is located on the side of the transfer case. You will need to pop the tranny tunnel cover off and then clean the connection.
