    Default Oil capacity on a 1970 800 with the 304???

    Also, can anybody tell me about a swapping of the auto for the standard tranny?

    The auto from the 70 is a Borg Warner with a married transfer case. If you get the manual, look for one from a 74 or later scout, which is a model T19. They come in both wide and close ratio. Reverse is RIGHT and BACK.

    You will need the whole pedal assembly and clutch linkage from the donor scout. Don't just get the bell housing and transmission.

    The transfer case from the 70 scout will work, but you need to make sure you have the right bull gear.
