I've got a '79 terra with a metal tank made by Travel Tanks. The label shows the capacity as 31.5 gallons. My fuel gauge doesn't work. There are two leads coming out of the top of the tank (still installed), that plug into the wire bundle running to the cab. When I unplugged them from the bundle and shorted them the needle went to full, so it looks like I need a new sender. I was wondering if anyone else had seen this brand of tank, and if the current 33-gallon sender (at superscoutspecialists.com, anythingscout.com, scoutparts.com, etc.) would work for it (mostly concerned about the mounting bolt pattern on the sender). Also, what is the best way to clean the inside of this type of tank? Or should I just replace it with a 19-gallon plastic one (would rather not pay for a new metal 33 gallon tank)? Thanks.
