    Exclamation 392 intake on a 345?

Hey does anyone know will a 4 barrel 392 intake fit my 345? I have a 2 barrel and my holley carb is being a little #%#$%& so I want to put a 4 barrel edelbrock carb on thus I need a new intake manifold. EGR or not (my current intake has it ... i don't use it) will it fit? i noticed the head gaskets from felpro say 345 OR 392 on them but a buddy said the 392 is a big block. I am a little confused can anyone help me out?? its a 74 scout 2 by the way.

Yes, 392 and 345 intake manifolds are interchangeable. The 345 is exactly the same outer dimensions. The only difference that matter is piston size (same stroke). It does not matter whether it's improved cooling or not, it will bolt up and work.

ALL IH V8 engines are big blocks. The 345 weighs about 720 dressed. The 392 weighs a little more. The 304 weighs in at about 680. SV means small V8, but a 304 weighs about the same as a 454 chevy. These were the smallest V8s IH made. Some were in the 1200 lb range.
