    Cool Low Oil Pressure

Hey Fellas, I am new to the board. I have a 75 international with a rebiult
345 out of an old Load Star dump truck. It has great oil pressure(45-60) till the engine warms up then it goes down to about 5-10 lbs. Can anyone offer
    any advice on this...Thanks..

welcome to the joys of International. If you do a search on this forum or the previous forum binder planet you will find 100's of posts with the same title one will have my name on it. the normal answer is they all do it. Some people recommend an extra quart of oil, some say heavier oil, some say use a high quality oil filter because fram filters are crap and restrict the flow. Some say it has to do with the drain from the top end of the engine letting the oil travel back down to the bottom end being to small or clogged. I changed my filter and put in a thicker oil and it helped some but i got use to it.

At idle, 10-20 psi hot is normal with straight 30 wt oil, per the manual. Most gauges are not very accurate at low pressure.

The rule of thumb is 1 psi per 100 rpm, but if you're getting good pressure at idle and over 30 on the highway, there's no reason to be concerned.
