    Default Making Oil

My SD-33 has started making oil. Can anybody tell me where the diesel fuel can seep into the lube oil?

Are you sure it's fuel? The fuel system on the diesels is a pretty straight forward system with the lines going from the injection pump straight to the cylinders. I had a problem with mine getting water into the oil system, and aside from the head being cracked it was also the oil cooler on the passenger side of the block.

the shop manual says if the lift pump gets worn it can put fuel in the lube oil, has anyone by-passed this pump with an electric one?

By lift pump you're talking about the hand pump to prime the system, right? I completely bypassed mine with an electric fuel pump and don't have a single problem with it.

there is alot of ressons for that............
    1. bad seals in the lift....... not the primer hand pump
    2. rings............
    3. bad injectors
    4. worn parts in your injection pump
    5. bad front seal on injection pump

If you are going to bypass the lift pump DO NOT USE A GASS PUMP WILL LEAVE YOU ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. Get a fass pump or an airdog pump. If need more info send me message.
