I would like to pass on a little tip about the little cable bushing that is at the top of the gas pedal. Awhile back I was working on my scout when I broke the original little bushing the cable goes through, having no idea were to get a new one I decided to make my own. I found that if you take a 357 magnum case and knock the spent primer out [make sure the primer has been fired]
then cut the case down to about 3/8" long and cut a slot in it for the cable to go through, it will probably last forever. You may have to clean the paint out of the hole at the top of the pedal assy for the case to drop in but its no big deal. Hope this helps some body out.
