    Default 76 Scout II

    still running a little rough? what degree should the timing be set at?.. idles good but when I drove it around the block it was skipping ,, missiing something... i just replaced the distributor, wires, cap, plugs.. it fires right up when i crank it as well.. any suggestions?

    For an IH V8 304, 5 degrees BTDC plus one degree for every 1200 ft of altitude.

    Check your firing order, 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2, timed off number 8 cylinder. Also, check your vacuum advance. They often spring leaks. Both problems would cause the symptoms you describe.
