Default Got a couple of ?'s

So my dad has/had (its mine now) a 73 1200 or 1210 pickup. Its got a 392 in it with Holley 4bbl (i'm assuming its a square bore because of that?). I wanna use this motor in a project truck I'm building.
    1. Can I mate this to a 700r4 or any GM type tranny?or comparable makes?
    2. Does anybody make an adapter?
    3. anything I should know about these motors?

so the truck body is shot, but the heart was rebuilt before it was "put in the pasture". its been in the family since new, I pretty much grew up in it so its got some value for me.

    Any answers are greatly appreciated.

Don't have any answers for you but what part of Kauai are you from?

Wife is from Lawai area. Her family owns a Macadamia nut farm there. Just moved from there after being there 10yrs myself.

A 700r4 can be matted behind the engine. What you need is the adaptor plates. I know IHONLYNORTH has the adaptor plate to mate the transfercase to the transmission, and Advanced Adaptors should have the adaptor to mate the transmission to the engine.
