    Default 15 inch wheels

Will other 5 lug 15 inch wheels interchange with a 70 scout? Jeep maybe?

Older jeeps maybe, But yjs and up are 5 on 5, or 4.5 forget. and scout is 5 on 5.5.

And there's also the backspacing issue... and width of tires affects ur turning and rubbing

Ive heard standard offset is OK from some, some say less than 5" is no good. some say 3.5" is good so really im at a loss.

The further the wheel is out tho, the more stress is going to be on your wheel bearings and will make them fail earlier then they would of with a stock setup.

What size tires are you planning on running?

EDIT : ok i looked it up all cj models are 5 on 5.5 so pre 1987 jeeps will work with scout wheels

i tried putting some wheels off a 89 f-150 on my 71 scout and they wouldnt go over the hub due to a smaller center hole

Sorry for dredging up an old thread, but I am really trying to determine a decent wheel and tire package for a stock ride height 1971 Scout 2, the options seem to be relatively limited. I am definitely going to re-use the 31X10.5 15 inch tires. I want to store the steelies and Poverty caps and maybe use Ansen Mags for that old 70's vibe. 15x8 wheels with 5/5.5 bolt pattern, 4 1/2" backspacing so the tires wil only just peak out from the fenders I think. American Racing is making them now.

Has anyone tried these with the Scout axles? I am just curious if they fit over the lockouts and if they worked out ok?
