    Default Bent?

is this bend supposed to be there, i just noticed this...there isnt any problems driving, it steers just fine...is it designed that way because of the pitman arm in the way?

Umm im not sure if that's stock as ive never owned anything but scout 2's but if it has a lift already.. i would say the PO bent it. My drag link was totaly rebent to give it an arch close to that.

But someone who owns one im sure will chime in and say if it is stock or not hehe

My '69 800A w/ SOA does not have that bend, neither did my sport top. I put the one from my sport top onto my '63 to fix a boomerang caused by an improper pull.

It isn't that bad of a bend, I've seen worse (have one from the '63). If steering is still good, drive carefully and keep an eye on it or replace when you have the $$$.

no ..it's not supposed to be bent..
when i was building rock crawler and offroad jeeps i would sleeve the drag link and weld it to reinforce it so it would not end up looking like that..

if the wheels are leaning it could be wheel bearings.. ball joints ..
or someone tried to make it fly and bent the axle ..

here is a pic of what im talking about ..

just have to find the right size that will slide over your drag link and weld the ends..

some people weld Pieces of angle on them to reinforce them instead of a steel tube, but it looks like crap..
